    We are seeking Berber (Tamazight) Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Tamazight, part of the Berber language family spoken across Morocco, Algeria, Libya, and North Africa, is a rare but critical language frequently needed for asylum and immigration proceedings.

    Responsibilities

    Provide real-time Berber (Tamazight) ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and asylum cases.

    Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism in immigration and legal contexts.

    Maintain confidentiality under USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.

    Support both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge interpretation requests.

    Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.

    Qualifications

    Native or near-native fluency in Berber (Tamazight) and English.

    2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, asylum, community, NGO, or government strongly preferred).

    Knowledge of North African cultural contexts.

    Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and impartiality standards.

    Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
