Berenson LLP is the nation’s leading law firm specializing in the remodeling and home improvement industry, serving as special and general counsel to a diverse industry client base throughout the United States, including big box retailers, national and regional remodeling manufacturers, dealers and finance companies. We seek an attorney who has experience/interest in employment matters, consumer affairs, transactional disputes, government audits, commercial and contract matters, etc. This candidate’s practice would include the representation of national, regional and local remodeling contractors, manufacturers, franchisors, finance companies and other industry-specific entities on a very diverse variety of projects.

This candidate must have top credentials, be comfortable working independently and with minimal supervision and possess a strong work ethic, confidence, a good sense of humor and a collaborative attitude; must enjoy aggressively attacking a variety of legal challenges individually and in groups and dealing with colorful clients. We are a small, entrepreneurial law firm with over 25 years of industry-leading visibility and an industry-wide reputation for excellence without question.

• A candidate with an ability to grasp client concerns and communicate confidence and excellence. Unlike many firms, our clients will be with us tomorrow, after a case is over, so an understanding of the business ramifications of litigation and disputes is necessary.
• The candidate must have excellent communication skills. Yes, every law firm lists this, but we are quite serious. Eventually, this candidate will also be counseling and advising clients in how to structure their operations to avoid litigation and joining other firm attorneys at national and regional speaking events.
• The candidate must be results-driven with a strong strategic focus and an ability to think outside the box.
• The candidate must be able to manage his/her own time. We value quality of life as much as we value our reputation, but this requires the ability to manage one’s workload effectively given the flexibility we allow our attorneys to have.
• A candidate with pre-existing knowledge of the remodeling or home improvement industry and how it operates is helpful, but not required.

COMPENSATION:

• Annual base salary with unlimited bonus potential. To be discussed in further detail with potential candidates and is based upon level of experience and performance.
