    Job Summary

    The Shipping Coordinator's responsibilities include developing and implementing efficient shipping systems using P21 and Swanleap TMS software. This supervisor will participate in the overall planning and communication with other departments processing shipments.

    What you will be doing during your career with Berk Enterprises:

    Prioritize and communicate the daily workload priorities to the shipping staff.

    Investigate, understand, and communicate root cause of dispatch failures and present to the Logistics Manager all issues and their causes.

    Flexibility with working shift patterns to cover seasonal peaks, holidays, and call offs.

    Provide day-to-day leadership and management for employees in the department.

    Assigns, directs, and monitors work completed by drivers and other shipping department employees.

    Responsible for employee's performance appraisal, development, and discipline. Must be able to address and resolve issues.

    Ensure all new hires and existing employees perform their jobs safely, correctly and with the highest level of quality and ability.

    Responsible for assuring shipping schedules are met by organizing and coordinating loads.

    Communicate daily expectations, direction and instructions and provide ongoing feedback to employees. Communicate any changes in policies or procedures as needed.

    Develop collaborative working relationship with all departments in the warehouse.

    Complete all reports accurately and timely.

    Adhere to all safety procedures, accident investigation analysis, conduct departmental safety meetings, and utilize equipment provided for employee protection.

    3+ years of relevant experience

    Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills

    Works well in teams

    Ability to meet tight deadlines

    Strong problem-solving skills and risk assessment capabilities

    Education Requirements

    Bachelor’s Degree or work experience equivalent
