    THE ROLE:

    • This role is for you if you want to:
      • Learn more about how a nonfiction trade book publishing company works and learn more about sales and marketing systems
      • Work directly with the VP of Sales and Marketing to support our authors and sales and marketing efforts
      • Learn about trade show planning and would enjoy the opportunity to represent our company at trade shows
      • Expand your copywriting skills

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Support our authors in their own marketing and sales efforts, through creating marketing plans and promotional materials and compiling sales information
    • Support our communications efforts and our trade and international sales force by compiling all media hits and events in the distributors database and creating summary reports to highlight key titles
    • Assist with setting up BKs presence at trade shows and attend select trade shows and local events representing BK and selling our books
    • Prepare information for the Publisher to make first print run decisions
    • Assist with promotional copywriting of sales sheets for sales reps and product copy for promotion of our books
    • Submit our books for awards throughout the year

    REQUIREMENTS

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    • Detail-oriented and have the ability to organize and manage many different responsibilities

    • Track record of performing responsibilities with accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and efficiency through paid and/or volunteer work

    • Track record of being accountable for meeting deadlines through paid and/or volunteer work

    • Undergraduate college degree or equivalent experience

    • Be proficient at Office Suite for Mac (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); experience with Filemaker Pro or other database experience, and Asana or other project management tools a plus

    OTHER

    • We will consider permanent remote employment from the four time zones of the continental United States. The position is required to work 9:00 to 5:30 pm Pacific time
    • This position requires a background check from a third-party company. Candidates will be required to provide permission to commence background checks prior to a formal offer letter from the company.

    The preferred start date for this position is April 15.
