    Job Description

    Griswold Controls is a leading flow and temperature control valve manufacturer for the HVAC and Irrigation industries.  We are in Irvine, CA and have been in business since 1960.

    We are currently looking for an Information Technology Manager due to an upgrade to the existing position.  This is a full-time, regular position located on-site (not remote).  Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.   An excellent and comprehensive benefits package will be provided.

    DUTIES

    ·         Our expectation is that the person in this role will be responsible for company enterprise strategy and execution of all aspects of Information Technology.  They will manage technical planning, procurement, and implementation of all projects to meet business technology needs and objectives.   

     

    ·         Responsible for the direction of the Enterprise Resource Planning system, including customization, development, and user/systems training.  Familiarity working with multi-value non-relational databases (Unidata/PICK) preferred.

     

    ·         Own the I.T. department’s operational and strategic planning, with a focus on project management and organizing and resourcing the in-house staff and/or consulting firms/ consultants.  Will develop and implement policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, department standards, purchasing and contracting.

     

    ·         Ensure that end-user needs are met, promptly and satisfactorily relating to all company hardware and software.  Provide end-users with appropriate training to ensure best practices are being followed.

     

    ·         Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all I.T. systems, including cloud-based services, telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals, and office automation equipment.

     

    ·         Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.  Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of I.T. infrastructure, systems, and software.

     

    ·         Maintain confidentiality and security of company data and customer information.

     

    ·         Focus on securing systems from unauthorized use by implementation of best practice policies.

     

    ·         Report system downtime and performance issues to CEO and CFO and make recommendations.

     

    ·         Assess potential risks and technical challenges, and prepare appropriate mitigation plans.

     

    PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

     

    ·         Self-motivated, results-oriented, able, and willing to work on both strategic and tactical levels.

     

    ·         Works well with people while maintaining integrity, flexibility, and credibility.  Ability to accept criticism, constructive or otherwise, in a professional manner and to continue striving for improvements.  Able to explain technical subjects in layman’s terms.

     

    ·         Ability to quickly grasp concepts, assess needs and implement solutions, including installation and maintenance of any I.T. business system.

     

    ·         Innovative problem solver, skilled at cost-benefit analysis and dealing with abstract and concrete variables.

     

    TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

     

    ·         Degree and/or certifications in the I.T. field.

     

    ·         Significant experience leading I.T. initiatives, including cost/benefit and user training and satisfaction.

     

    ·         ERP/MRP experience in a manufacturing environment (Avante preferred).

     

    ·         Visual Basic, ASP.net, Windows Server Administration, VMWare.
