    VP in Finance ( Civil Construction Experience ) - Washington, DC**

    My Client has an immediate opening for a full-time Vice President of Finance with significant experience working within the construction industry. This position has oversight including accounting, payroll, credit, accounting systems, business office operations, and financial analysis. The Vice President of Finance also serves as a strategic business partner and advisor to the President & CEO.

    The Client is experiencing an exciting transformation. The finance team is modernizing and delivering its services in new and creative ways, including upgrading tools and processes to the most modern in the market. We are searching for a rising VP who is poised to step up and embrace this dynamic role. The Vice President of Finance is a key member of the executive leadership team charged with designing and executing an executive leadership strategy that is driving the broader business objectives. This position is located in Washington, DC, and reports to the President & CEO.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    Supervises finance department personnel, i.e., delegating, motivating, goal setting, supporting and rewarding to optimize productivity

    Prepares, implements, and manages company-wide budgets and cash balances

    Manages and implements monthly finance and operation reviews, strategic planning, and annual operating plans

    Proactively identifies threats and opportunities and develops business plans to address financial challenges

    Leads and implements key changes in fiscal policies, best practices, methods, applications, tools, and other standardization initiatives

    Collaborates with and provides insight to President & CEO and senior management

    Develops information processes to provide early warning, develops root cause analysis, countermeasures, and action plans

    Analyzes key metrics, understands and interprets complex financial structures, tracks, and reports revenue, and articulates the business impact of changes

    Prepares financial reports and analysis and ensures the accuracy of all reporting

    Promotes active interdepartmental teamwork and participation in special project teams

    Prepares and presents monthly and quarterly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division, and weekly cash flow by division/department

    Manages cash flow planning process and ensures funds availability

    Responds to the requests of internal and independent auditors; provides reports and other data needed in connection with annual audits of internal control systems and financial statements

    Maintains outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners

    Oversees quarterly and annual payroll tax returns (including W-2s and 1099s)

    Oversees the completion and filing of sales & use tax returns, personal property tax returns, income tax returns, and other compliance filings

    Engages in strategic planning and participates in pivotal decisions as they relate to strategic company-wide initiatives through serving as a key member of the executive leadership team

    Identifies, acquires, and implements systems and software to provide critical financial information

    Performs financial statement fluctuation analysis, job cost analyses, and expense reviews

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Strong, mature leadership skills with experience in leading change successfully

    Demonstrates a deep understanding of the company's financial and business operations

    Must possess and utilize forward-looking leadership with the ability to articulate the same

    Excellent written and oral communication skills

    Ability to apply consistent, sound judgment to business practices

    Ability to handle multiple priorities and arrange to meet monthly deadlines

    Must be assertive and demonstrate initiative

    Ability to identify opportunities for improving financial and business operations

    Ability to react to change quickly and efficiently
