    We are looking for an Accountant/Controller to oversee all financial procedures at Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate by the Sea. As an Accountant/Controller, you will monitor the company’s financial status, review quarterly and annual budgets, maintain all trust accounts and manage accounting transactions. To be successful in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, specifically as it relates to real estate and experience with risk management. Additionally, you will help to make sure we comply with accounting regulations, trust account compliance, maximize profits and mitigate risks. Responsibilities: • Document, monitor, and update accounting policies • Ensure all payments are completed on time (including accounts payable and bank deposits) • Review quarterly and annual budgets for all departments • Analyze costs and profits • Set and track financial KPIs • Build risk assessment models to evaluate investments • Report on the financial status on a regular basis and create reports when needed • Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems • Perform internal audits and assist with external audits • Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations • Communicate accounting information with clients • Collect deficient balances from clients Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field • At least 3 years of work-related experience • Skilled in the use of computer and software- including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and accounting systems • Adaptable: the ability to change direction and focus without a lot of notice • Communication: balancing listening and talking, speaking and writing clearly and accurately, influencing others, and keeping others informed • Service Focus: must possess a positive attitude and the ability to work positively under all circumstances • Detail-Oriented: ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness • Results-focus: ability to overcome obstacles to get things done, ability to prioritize Compensation: $95,000 - $105,000 yearly
