We are an entrepreneurial intellectual property (“IP”) law firm that is on track for aggressive growth and we need an experienced IP paralegal(s) to join our team and work directly with the owner, attorneys, and staff to support the team and help our clients. We are known for providing IP solutions to our clients and not just IP services. We need an IP paraleg(s), with the correct mindset and experience, who can hit the ground running. This is a non-litigation position and candidates are expected to be knowledgeable about patents, trademarks, and copyrights, in the U.S. and internationally. Attention to detail is paramount and the person we hire must be willing to “play all in” with being a team player and are focused on the success of the firm. Direct client contact is required and your decorum must be impeccable. We love to help people learn and grow. We recognize that starting any new position will require a level of learning and growth. However, we only expect that what is learned is retained. The candidate must take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal handholding, including effectively managing a caseload. More specifically, we seek "can-do" employees. The pay range for this position will be determined based on your years of experience with intellectual property law as a paralegal. Additional benefits include, at a minimum, health insurance, paid holidays, and the ability to participate in the firm’s 401K plan once prerequisites are met. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week), but fewer hours may be possible. As a closing sentence please write, “I have read the instructions contained in the job posting and have followed the instructions.” Responsibilities: The candidate we are seeking will be expected to support the patent and trademark preparation and prosecution (domestic and international) practice areas of our firm. Responsibilities will include: • Handling IP docketing matters, both U.S. and international filings • Knowing the USPTO rules and regulations to assist with filing document • Billing matters, including preparing documents for filing • Maintaining attorney calendars, communication with clients • Knowing patent and trademark law as it relates to deadlines • Ability to communicate knowledge with clients regarding their IP matters Qualifications: • Strong preference for candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have an advanced paralegal education • Strong oral and written communication skills • Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills If the statements below appeal to you, then you may be our next IP paralegal! • An amazing scheduler with a sickening degree of attention to detail • Is a quick learner • Willingly accepts your role as managing matters to ensure that schedules are met timely • Great with calendars, e-mail, spreadsheets, word processing, and the Internet • Written and verbal communication skills are excellent • An awesome juggler of tasks and can change gears quickly • Extremely adept at drafting, proofing, and reviewing legal documents • Enjoy investigating facts to help with conflicts • Take pride in accurately and regularly recording your time spent on matters • Must be able to work very well with others Compensation: $50,000 - $75,000 yearly
