The right candidate must have relevant knowledge and experience in patent preparation, patent office inquiries, and the PCT process. A keen eye for detail is of absolute importance. Above all, the right candidate must be willing to work in a team and have an eagerness to learn and grow. Remuneration is commensurate with the applicant's skill level. Furthermore, wee offer bonuses depending on the candidate's capabilities and productivity. If you possess the necessary qualifications to take part in litigation and trademark cases as well, this is a bonus, but is not required. Please provide a two paragraph cover letter so that we can gauge your understanding of the most important qualities of patent preparation and prosecution. Also make sure to include why you are the perfect fit for this role. Make sure to end your letter with the sentence “I have read the instructions contained in the job posting and have followed the instructions” to show that you've done your due diligence. Responsibilities: • Draft patent applications and responses to office actions • Consult with inventors to ascertain the scope and aspects eligible for patent protection • Liaise with paralegals and other personnel to complete and submit relevant documents • Hold and engineering degree though other technical degrees will also be considered • Carry out patent searches and assess possible infringement • Possess the ability to work in a self-directed manner • Possess an entrepreneurial mindset Qualifications: • An engineering degree is preferred, but will consider other technical degrees • Registered with the USPTO • Florida Bar is preferred but if not barred in FL, will sit and pass the FL Bar exam within 1 year • Will consider patent agents • U.S. citizen required • At least 3 years (will consider 2) as a registered patent attorney/agent • This is at least a hybrid position, preferably Compensation: $110,000 minimum depending on experience
