  • Responsibilities

    **COLSA is seeking high-performing, degree-seeking college interns for the Summer 2026 term (June 1–July 31). Interns will gain hands-on experience through meaningful work that directly supports COLSA’s mission and the business operations of our Bid & Proposal Team at our Corporate Office in Huntsville, Alabama. **

    *During this internship, you will have the following principal duties and responsibilities (Essential functions):

    • Assist with a wide range of duties in the field, including providing formatting, editing/proofreading, and writing portions of proposal documents *
    • Assist with creation and analysis of routine projects, programs, policies and procedures. Examples include generating proposal schedules and charts to be presented to internal management, and/or the proposal team. *
    • Perform assigned intern projects and follows them to completion. Examples include assisting in report generation, data collection, and updating company databases. *
    • Support Proposal Team employees in research activities, document generation, proof-reading, and configuration control and management of proposal artifacts. *

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Actively enrolled in a related undergraduate degree program in Business, English, Journalism, Communications, Graphics Design, or Technical Writing no later than the start of the internship (June 1)
    • Junior or Senior standing at the time the internship begins (June 1)
    • Foundational role-specific knowledge or skills, such as user-level knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and familiarity with Adobe Acrobat.
    • U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to successfully undergo criminal background check prior to start of employment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Coursework, academic projects, or hands-on experience related to the position
    • Prior related internship, co-op, research, or part-time experience
    • Participation in related student organizations, research, competitions, or leadership activities
    • Exposure to relevant tools, technologies, or methodologies such as:
      • Experience with Microsoft Project (or equivalent project planning tool)
      • Experience with using generative Artificial Intelligence
