    Role Objectives: Responsible for business development and relationship building activities with new and existing customers – generate revenues from the sale and promotion of our agency, husbandry, launch, line handling and harbor tug services

    Key Responsibilities:

    Work with the executive team, senior management, and the operations teams to identify new business opportunities, develop sales strategies, set revenue targets, and execute on the strategies and revenue objectives.

    Develop and maintain strong relationships with key market parties including owners, operators, charterers, and ship managers.

    Develop and maintain an excellent understanding of market activity and opportunities using various sources including customers, vendors and market data.

    Deliver feedback from the market to the executive team and relevant management across the various businesses, including with respect to the competition and potential M&A opportunities.

    Maintain close relationships with the operations teams in each port to identify opportunities and support them in achieving their revenue targets.

    Maintain close relationships with senior management across the different businesses to enable a process of continuous improvement in service delivery and pricing structures.

    Represent the businesses at trade shows, maritime meetings and company sponsored events.

    Attend and participate in key (internal events) including managers meetings, terminal visits, training, and team building events.

    Participate in ISO internal meetings, discussions of lessons learned, and reviews of systems to deliver improvement.

    Identify best practice opportunities/training needs and advise senior management / the executive team.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge/Skill/Ability Requirements:

    Creative thinker that can grasp (complex) problems and convert them into opportunities / solutions that deliver value.

    Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

    Ability to manage multiple projects from inception to successful implementation and evaluation.

    Knowledge of business and management principles involved in sales, relationship management, customer service, and the associated interactions with people.

    General financial knowledge to be able to understand P&L statements, financial reports and corporate financials.

    Proficiency with computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.

    Demonstrated knowledge of dry bulk and liquid products is preferred.

    Education/Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    Master’s degree highly appreciated.

    10 or more years of experience in sales role(s).

    Maritime business experience preferred, working knowledge of dry bulk and liquid products are a plus.

    Position requires some travel.

    Experience writing proposals and collecting supporting data and communications for business development projects.

    Physical Requirements:

    May be required to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps; reach; stand; walk; talk; and hear.

    Must exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

    Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as analyzing figures, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection, and using measurement devices.

    Worker is, from time-to time, subject to environmental conditions both inside and outside, with no effective protection from weather, with sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard, and to physical hazards, such as moving parts, vehicles, electricity, heights, and large bodies of deep water.
