    JOB DESCRIPTION

    We are currently seeking an IT Business Analyst to support our IT Department. This position will be in either our Mt. Laurel, New Jersey office.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal customers (and internal customers, if required) to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), Use Cases, User Stories, GUI, Screen and Interface designs.
    • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, tasks and workflow analysis. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
    • Learn each part of the Vertical Screen Business, Operations, Sales, Marketing, IT and HR. Possess an understanding of how each business unit interacts and the KPIs that are important to each of the units. Perform analysis for how IT can better align to business needs.
    • Gather and document business functional requirements from various sources: product owner, business owner, and business users.
    • Conduct research, draft user stories (or requirements), and meet with users to validate and enhance the user stories / requirements.
    • Breakdown the roadmap into epics and group user stories under them.
    • Create wireframes for the user stories and review them with the users and gather feedback.
    • Work with product / business owner, business users, scrum master, and developers to write user stories which are negotiable, valuable, estimable, small, and testable.
    • Responsible for ensuring user stories include validation criteria which reasonably covers all areas necessary for complete testing of the new functionality.
    • Collaborate with and support developers during their design and development efforts to provide support for their analysis of the story.
    • Proactively contribute to the quality of the product by seeking and proposing new or alternate approaches to address the requirements.
    • Participate in Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Scrum Meetings and other Agile activities.
    • Improve and expand knowledge and skill sets with regard to current trends and changes in software development industry and be up to date with latest design trends.
    • Learn each part of the Vertical Screen Business, Operations, Sales, Marketing, IT, and HR.
    • Perform other duties as directed.

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS

     

    • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
    • Experience with the Atlassian JIRA and Confluence is a plus.
    • Exhibit superior communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience in SQL preferred, but not required
    • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio.
    • Proficient in creating mock-ups / wireframe.
    • Experience with both traditional Waterfall SDLC and Agile / Scrum methodologies.
    • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects. Recognizes difficult situations and prioritize/respond accordingly.
    • Enthusiastic motivated self-learner who is an excellent team player. 
    • Must be able to travel between our Mt. Laurel and Warminster locations.

     

     

    EDUCATION

    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / IST or related technical discipline
