    Big George's Home Appliance Mart is a 3rd generation family business specializing in residential appliance goods. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Controller with a strong background to lead our accounting team. As a pivotal member of our management, you will drive financial strategy, ensure accurate reporting, and provide valuable insights to support our company's growth trajectory and profitability. If you're a strategic thinker with experienced leadership qualities, we would like to have you join our family business consisting of 133 employees.     Responsibilities:

    1. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making processes.
    2. Financial Reporting - Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
    3. Risk Management - Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial best practices.
    4. Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, ensuring accurate and timely filing of tax returns. Collaborate with external tax advisors to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax efficiency.
    5. Coordinate external audits and reviews, providing audit support and ensuring compliance with audit and tax requirements.

    Experience:

    1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting and 3 years in management role
    3. Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP; experience within retail space of large home products industries is welcomed.
    4. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software; 5 years’ experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) using SQL systems within the company's ERP use of NetSuite to ensure accurate reporting and optimize financial modules.
    5. Experience with Health Benefits, Liability, Workers Compensation & General Insurance negotiations
    6. Familiarity with human resources, employee relations, and review systems (ADP)
    7. Report to sales, operation and purchasing leadership on their metrics
    8. Establish and review metrics for company's standard operating processes
    9. Review Turns, Vendor Margins, Aging and overall inventory performance
    10. Prepare and present Sales analysis for Sales MGR reviews.
