    HVAC/R Service Technicians working on more complex projects involving Chillers, Boilers, and Cooling Towers in the Commercial and Industrial sectors have a range of specialized responsibilities:

    1\. Equipment Inspection and Diagnosis:

    • Conduct thorough inspections of chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and related HVAC/R equipment.
    • Use diagnostic tools and instruments to identify issues with mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

    2\. Maintenance and Repairs:

    • Perform maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of components.
    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
    • Replace faulty components, such as compressors, motors, valves, and sensors.
    • Welding and brazing for repairing or replacing pipes and fittings.

    3\. System Testing and Balancing:

    • Conduct system performance tests to ensure optimal operation.
    • Adjust and balance air and water flow within HVAC/R systems.
    • Verify temperature and pressure levels meet design specifications.

    4\. Refrigerant Handling and Recovery:

    • Handle refrigerants safely, including charging, recovering, and recycling in compliance with environmental regulations (e.g., EPA regulations in the United States).
    • Detect and repair refrigerant leaks.

    • Stay updated on industry advancements, regulations, and new technologies through training and certifications.
    • Maintain required licenses and certifications, such as EPA 608 Certification for handling refrigerants.

    11\. Team Collaboration:

    • Coordinate with other technicians, engineers, and contractors as needed, especially in larger projects or installations.
