STAFF ACCOUNTANT CORPORATE OFFICE

We have a great opportunity for the right candidate to join Big Sandy Distribution’s accounting team in our corporate office. Currently, we are located in Franklin Furnace, Ohio, but this support staff position will be moving soon to Ashland, Kentucky.

As a Staff Accountant you will:
Prepare journal entries with proper back-up as needed including service related journal entries
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, account analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules
Reconcile sub ledgers for accounts receivable, accounts payable and fixed assets to the general ledger
Provide support for affiliate store locations
Provide support for service accounting
Assist CFO with audit schedules and annual audit, monthly financial reports, and dailybanking, and documenting accounting processes
Assist with sales tax returns and sales tax audits
May be on call one weekend per month to assist stores
Salary based on average 45 hours per week
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting or closely related field with one to three years
experience, preferably in a CPA office.
Must be able to use Microsoft Office products with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Understanding of accounting processes and procedures
Strong analytical and research skills
Ability to succeed in a team environment
Ability to manage competing priorities
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Physical Demands:
Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and reach regularly
Full-time Reports to Chief Financial Officer
