    Role Overview: The Criminal Defense Administrative Assistant provides crucial in-person support to our criminal defense team, including both attorneys and paralegals. This role focuses on administrative, clerical, and logistical tasks to help keep the department organized and efficient. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, dependable, and comfortable interacting with clients, staff, and the court.

    This position is perfect for someone who enjoys being the go-to person in the office and can take the initiative to support both legal staff and daily operations.

    Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is required

    Key Responsibilities:

    Print, scan, and assemble physical copies of legal documents and case materials

    Organize and maintain hard-copy files and folders in the office

    Prepare trial binders and document packets for attorney use in court

    Drop off and pick up documents from local courts, jails, or other agencies

    Assist with in-person client visits, which may include greeting clients, helping set up virtual court access, collecting signed documents, or coordinating affidavits

    Handle mail duties, including certified mail, legal filings, and mail runs

    Provide occasional in-person interpretation for Spanish-speaking clients

    Support attorney or paralegal with other in-office administrative tasks as assigned

    Qualifications:

    Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks from start to finish

    Comfortable with printing, scanning, and organizing physical documents

    Professional and approachable when interacting with clients in person

    Comfortable learning basic office tech (e.g., printers, scanners, case management software)

    Willing to assist with occasional in-person deliveries or pickups, if needed

    MUST BE BILINGUAL IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH

    Preferred Experience:

    Prior legal assistant or office administrative experience

    Familiarity with local courts in Travis, Williamson, or Hays County

    Interest in criminal law or experience in a legal setting
