Job Summary:
The Production Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the stone/granite fabrication department, ensuring quality, productivity, and safety standards are met. The Team Lead will supervises a team of fabricators, CNC operators, polishers, and helpers to meet production goals while maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily stone fabrication activities including cutting, polishing, edging, and sink cut-outs.
Assign tasks and manage work schedules for stone shop team members.
Ensure production meets deadlines, quality standards, and customer specifications.
Monitor performance of machines (CNC, bridge saws, routers) and coordinate maintenance as needed.
Train and mentor team members on safety procedures, fabrication techniques, and equipment use.
Inspect finished workpieces for accuracy, defects, and polish quality before approving for installation.
Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S or similar lean practices.
Collaborate with project managers, CAD team, and install coordinators to ensure job readiness.
Track materials and inventory; coordinate with warehouse or purchasing for replenishment.
Report daily output, labor utilization, and issues to production or plant management.
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in stone fabrication (granite, quartz, marble, quartzite, etc.)
Prior supervisory or lead role in a stone shop preferred.
Strong understanding of CNC machines, bridge saws, hand tools, and polish techniques.
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, templates, and work orders.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and shop best practices.
Good communication and leadership skills.
Bilingual (Spanish) a Must.
Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
Shop floor environment; may be exposed to dust, noise, water, and stone particles.
Use of PPE required (gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)
Standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
