BG Healthcare Services is looking for a detail-oriented, motivated Billing Specialist / Administrative Assistant to join our growing team. This is a hybrid role that combines Medicaid billing expertise with general office support for a fast-paced home care agency. Ideal candidates will have experience with Virginia Medicaid, including DMAS, MCOs, and Waiver billing processes.
Responsibilities:
Billing & RCM Duties:
Process Medicaid and MCO claims accurately and in a timely manner (including Aetna, UHC, Anthem, and Sentara)
Review documentation and timesheets to ensure claim compliance
Manage denials, resubmissions, and follow-up with payers
Maintain current knowledge of VA Medicaid regulations and codes
Track authorizations, expirations, and units used for each client
Communicate with support coordinators and insurance reps as needed
Administrative Support:
Assist with caregiver onboarding paperwork and file compliance
Monitor Plan of Care expirations and scheduling accuracy
Support incoming calls, emails, and general office coordination
Help prepare reports, audit materials, and intake packets
Collaborate with Branch Manager and clinical team to ensure workflow accuracy
Qualifications:
Prior experience in home health, home care, or healthcare billing required
Experience with Virginia Medicaid (DMAS, MCOs, Waivers) strongly preferred
Familiarity with EVV systems and Medicaid billing portals
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a small, dynamic office
Excellent communication and follow-up skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or EMR software
