At Petrelli Previtera, we're seeking a Billing Specialist with a strong understanding of legal invoices and a solid background in billing practices within a law firm. As a growing, nationally recognized family law firm, you'll support our attorneys and clients by ensuring efficient and accurate invoice preparation, client communication, and administrative support.

This role is essential in delivering accurate, timely, and transparent billing, but it goes beyond just invoicing. It's about empowering our attorneys and paralegals with the resources they need to have productive, informed conversations with clients. You will play a key role in supporting our legal teams, streamlining processes, and maintaining a clear line of communication with both attorneys and clients regarding billing.
Invoice Preparation and Submission: Conduct a comprehensive review of client invoices using firm-approved billing software. Ensure that all invoices are accurate, complete, and compliant with client agreements and billing guidelines. This includes reviewing both hourly and flat-fee billing structures, as applicable, to ensure proper and thorough billing practices are followed.
Error Handling and Corrections: Perform a detailed daily review to identify any billing errors in dictated reports or progress notes. Forward discrepancies to the relevant teams for corrections and track progress to ensure timely resolution. Collaborate with attorneys and administrative staff to resolve any errors promptly, ensuring that the billing process remains accurate and comprehensive at all stages.
Familiarity with Legal Invoices : Maintain a thorough understanding of the nuances of legal invoices, ensuring proper categorization of time entries, expenses, and disbursements according to legal billing standards.
A/R Correspondence and Documentation : Work A/R correspondence, keeping accurate logs of all communication and payment statuses. Maintain an updated A/R log to track the progress of outstanding payments.
Assist Clients and Attorneys : Communicate with attorneys and clients to address billing questions and obtain missing billing information. Proactively resolve any disputes or questions related to invoices.
Work with Legal Teams : Work with legal teams to ensure that billing statements reflect all charges accurately and comply with legal guidelines. Ensure attorneys are aware of all billing issues that need attention.

We offer a base salary ranging from $50,000 to $70,000 with additional earning potential.
