    Job Title: JavaScript Engineer

    Work Location: REMOTE FOR NOW BUT MUST BE LOCAL TO DC AREA.

    Here is the key. This person does not need to be a Python developer but must know how to refactor existing python code base. So basically, they have to know how to build JavaScript apps and make them communicate with Python.

    As an increasing number of large digital publishers move their critical business processes to Arc Publishing, we are in need of talented front-end developers who are experienced working on the front-end using JavaScript. The ideal candidate is excited to improve and stabilize the existing code base as well as design innovative solutions to meet the unique needs of our customers.

    The front-end developer is part of our Professional Services organization and will work closely with project teams within Professional Services as well as Account Management, Platform Engineering and Product Management organizations.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Refactor and improve the stability of the existing Python code base.
    • Build and maintain applications running in AWS.
    • Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
    • Work with product managers on task estimation and backlog planning.
    • Contribute to the architectural design and implementation of custom integrations with the Arc CMS.
    • Participate in an on-call rotation to help meet SLA's with our customers.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
    • 3+ years experience developing in Python.
    • Experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript.
    • Experience building applications in AWS.
    • Experience working within an agile development framework.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
    • Experience with data migration and systems integration projects.
    • Experience building web applications on AWS or another cloud platform.
