    Job Description

    The Manager, Human Resources (HR) is responsible for providing proactive human resources support to employees and organization leadership. He or she is responsible for supporting the organization in the specific human resources areas, including but not limited to benefits administration, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and compliance.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    Benefits Administration

    • Administers employee benefits programs, including but not limited to group health, short-term disability, 401k, and other plans; includes but is not limited to conducting analysis; serving as primary contact with vendors; performing benefits administration (claims resolution, change reporting, etc.); approving invoices for payment; and communicating information to employees
    • Responsible for all aspects of new hire benefits communication/enrollment and open enrollment communication/enrollment; approves employee selections and life status changes
    • Responsible for the administration of all leave of absence requests, including personal, medical, disability, and FMLA; responsible for proper communication with benefits vendors and employees; effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absence/disabilities

    Employee Relations

    • Responsible for successful coordination of onboarding/new employee orientation program, including all applicable training programs; ensures a positive new employee onboarding experience
    • Maintains an effective "buddy" program, which pairs each new employee with a peer employee who serves as a resource for acclimation to the BioAgilytix culture and workplace
    • Responsible for effective offboarding program, including exit surveys and meeting, equipment return, etc.
    • Supports efforts associated with the Company's Performance Management Program (e., goal setting, mid-year performance evaluations, year-end performance evaluations, etc.)
      • Communicates with team members to ensure processes are completed in a timely manner
      • Manages files for goals, mid-year reviews and annual reviews
    • Assists Human Resources department leaders with employee relations issues
      • Identifies issues; uses independent judgement to resolve problems through interpretation of policies and weighing alternative approaches to resolution
      • Provides high quality, value-added advice and counsel to managers on human resources issues; understands the needs of internal team members and provides effective, timely response

    Other HR responsibilities

    • Communicates HR action items to Payroll
      • Routinely communicate all payroll changes to payroll department, including but not limited to: new hires, promotions, separations, leaves of absences, etc.
      • Ensures accurate documentation of all HR related changes and additions to employee files
    • Ensures compliance with federal regulations, including but not limited to filing EEO-1 report, OSHA 300A, and required Bureau of Labor Statistics reports (maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to regulations)
    • Responsible for communication and completion of paperwork with outside entities, including but not limited to workers compensation, unemployment claims, verification of employment, etc.
    • Assists with the development, implementation, and communication of procedures; maintains BioAgilytix Employee Handbook
    • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, benefits, employee relations, and employment law
    • Other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources management, or related field of study
    • Not less than eight (8) years' experience in progressive HR roles

    SKILLS:

    • In-depth understanding of all HR disciplines, including state and federal employment related laws, regulations, and requirements; ability to apply that knowledge in business situations
    • Ability to achieve results and function independently in a fast-paced environment; ability to self-motivate with strong work ethic
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate concepts to multiple audiences
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of management and employees; ability to gain credibility, provide effective customer service, and foster positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly
    • Demonstrated ability to achieve performance goals, be adaptable to various competing demands, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to collaborate closely and keep running line of communication with other members of human resources team
    • Excellent attention to detail; ability to work accurately and to identify, analyze, prevent, and solve problems
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) and Adobe Acrobat
    • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

    PREFERRED CREDENTIALS

    • SHRM-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) preferred

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT

    • Primarily office (e., blend of office and work-from-home)
    • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Ability to work in an upright and/or stationary position for up to eight (8) hours per day
    • Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate office equipment
    • Frequent mobility needed
    • Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck
    • Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moving) objects, including office supplies and laptop computer, with a maximum lift of 20 pounds
    • Ability to access and use a variety of computer software
    • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand, with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
    • Frequently interacts with others to obtain or relate information to diverse groups
    • Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals
    • Requires multiple periods of intense concentration
    • Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence
    • Ability to perform under stress and multi-task
    • Regular and consistent attendance

    POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

    • This is a full-time position
    • Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours as published in the BioAgilytix Employee Handbook
    • Occasional weekend, holiday, and evening work required
    • Occasional travel required
