    CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT, FULL-TIME

    JOB OVERVIEW/SUMMARY

    The Materials Specialist is a part of the operations team responsible for supporting of manufacturing pharmaceutical drug products in a cGMP-regulated environment. Primary duties include shipping and receiving and inspection, ensuring appropriate storage and inventory control for materials that will be used to manufacture Clinical Trial and Commercial Material.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Receipt of GMP and non-GMP materials.  Document receipt of GMP materials per SOP requirements.  Return of materials to suppliers that do not meet requirements.  Notification of staff members when materials arrive.  Distribution of product and supplies to various departments.
    • Organization and inventory control of all GMP materials in the warehouse.  Ensure that the warehouse is ready for inspection during client visits/audits. 
    • Periodic cleaning of the warehouse per SOP requirements, daily (Monday to Friday) monitoring of temperatures of refrigerators and freezers and documentation in logbooks.  Quarterly bleaching of refrigerators and documentation in logbooks.
    • Sampling of raw materials promptly after receipt and providing samples to QC for testing.
    • Segregation of materials in the warehouse per status (e.g., quarantine, release, rejected, pending investigation, volatile organic solvents/acids/bases.
    • Disposal of materials per requirements of SOP and state/local regulations.  Removal of wastes from the laboratories.
    • Communication with clients on receipt or shipping of pharmaceutical products.  Ensure that products shipped out meet the client’s requirements and BioDuro Standard Operating Procedures.  Provide status updates to the client as requested.
    • Participate in investigating and isolation of any material or product identified as having a quality problem, until corrective action can be identified by QA.
    • Use continuous improvement to drive increased quality, efficiencies and cost savings.
    • Other duties as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
    • 2+ years of industry experience in inventory management in a warehouse setting
    • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
    • High attention to detail required
    • This position is responsible for compliance with all safety regulations, and Mechanical/Electrical/Fire Hazards/Elevated Workplace encountered in Manufacturing Areas.
    • Physical Demands - Ability to lift up to 75 lbs or manipulate 150 lbs or more
    • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
    • Manages personal and interpersonal stress
    • Has the discipline to stay focused and complete specific task
    • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strictly follows the company policy on client confidentiality
    • Able to be flexible and adapting to process schedules with overtime work as required to support operations.
