We are seeking an energetic, well organized Consumer Insights & Innovation Intern to join our team! To provide support and assistance to the Senior Innovation Specialist/Innovation Department.

    HERE'S WHAT YOU'D GET TO DO:

    1. Support sr. innovation specialist in executing various consumer & market research and Product ideation & concept development projects
    2. source & mine consumer, market, sales and trends data
    3. Provide administrative/Clerical tasks support sr. innovation specialist
    4. identify and organize all relevant assets for presentations & reports provide copy & survey writing support as needed

    Essential Duties And Responsibilities

    GENERAL

    • Maintain cooperative, diplomatic working relationships with co-workers, manager, and the public.
    • Work as part of the team and collaborate with co-workers and colleagues.
    • Responsible for reading, understanding, and following Quality Business Systems documentation for each function performed.
    • Responsible for working in compliance with Quality Systems Regulations (QSR), safety, and all other training.

    CONSUMER & MARKET RESEARCH & INSIGHTS SUPPORT

    • Support Sr. Innovation Specialist in all consumer and market research, data collection and analysis work, including:
    • Online/desk research to source relevant consumer, market, category, product and macro trend data.
    • Mine various data sources to identify relevant patterns and trends; organize findings to share with Sr. Innovation Specialist. Sources may include: category and market reports, POS/sales data, primary consumer research, etc.
    • Help with writing and programming consumer surveys into DIY online survey platform (e.g., Suzy, SurveyMonkey)
    • Coordinate and prepare key research stimulus to test with consumers - product visuals, product concept descriptions, package designs, etc.
    • Write copy for various needs - new concepts descriptions, trend reports, presentations, etc.
    • Help prepare slides and coordinate all necessary visual or data assets for presentations and reports
    • Monitoring daily newsletters for new trends
    • Perform store visits and take pictures of various aisle, categories, and products.

    INNOVATION GENERAL SUPPORT

    • Provide general clerical and administrative support to Innovation department as needed, including:
    • Help organize and maintain files for Innovation department
    • Prepare and submit Purchase Queries and Expense Reports
    • Transcribe meeting, interview, ideation or other notes
    • Type correspondence, forms, and report as needed using PC computer.
    • Shred confidential documents/reports as needed.

    SAFETY

    • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment by identifying all safety hazards and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
    • Responsible for utilizing proper lifting and material movement techniques at all times.
    • Responsible for reporting all work related injuries to Supervisor.

    PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS

    • Adhere to and support BioFilm's Corporate Policies and Procedures.
    • Actively works to improve processes in the company and its relationship to the community.
    • Performs all other related job duties as assigned by the Sales and Marketing Department.

    SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

    • Works under the general supervision of the Sr. Innovation Specialist.

    LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • This position does not directly supervise other employees and therefore does not have authority or responsibility for performing the supervisory functions of hiring, evaluating, disciplining, terminating or approving employee transactions.

     POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School diploma preferred.
    • Education and interest in Innovation & Design-Thinking, Human Experience Design, Market Research, Consumer Insights, Brand Strategy or similar
    • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English.
    • Able to recognize and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment and diplomacy.
    • Office Skills
    • Computer literate in a Windows Environment; Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, and Internet.
    • Able to perform online research and be resourceful in sourcing data
    • Basic math skills.
    • Detail oriented.
