Job Description

** _ _This role is on-site in Sanford, NC.__**

Conduct wet-chemistry and instrumental analytical chemistry analysis on in-process, final batch concentrate (FBC), monovalent bulk concentrate (MBC) sample types.

• Preparing analytical standards, buffers and reagents.

• Setting up and performing various bioanalytical and colorimetric assays such as: ELISAs (direct, indirect, Sandwich, or competitive), SDS-PAGE, Lowry/BCA/Bradford, DNA Picogreen, Western blots, qPCR, and Capillary Electrophoresis (CE).

• Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments such as spectrophotometers, nanodrop, Maurice or PA800 plus (icIEF/CE), chromatography systems, Real-time PCR instruments, pH/conductivity meters, various scales/balances, centrifuges, automated liquid handling units, etc.

• Calculating results using Excel spreadsheets and/or instrumental software (Compass, Softmax, Empower, etc.)

• Documenting results in electronic laboratory notebooks and reviewing notebooks of peers

• Supporting senior analytical chemists on various projects as assigned

• Utilizing technical knowledge to identify, troubleshoot, and assist with resolution of process problems

Due to close work with specific bacterial strains, the following vaccinations will be offered by the company:

• Blood Borne Pathogens (Hep B)
• (Pneumovax 23)
• (Menactra)
• (Tdap)

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry or Biochemistry with a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a laboratory environment
• Experience working with proteins or carbohydrates
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Reliable, daily transportation - the site location is not accessible by public transportation options.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong computer skills
• Organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or in a collaborative environment.
