    Position Summary

    We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Biohazard Remediation Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will respond to emergency and scheduled calls to clean, disinfect, and restore environments contaminated by blood, bodily fluids, chemical substances, and other biohazardous materials. This is physically demanding, emotionally challenging work that requires professionalism, discretion, and a strong commitment to safety.

    Responsibilities

    Perform biohazard remediation at crime scenes, unattended deaths, suicides, decomposition sites, and accident locations

    Clean and decontaminate blood spills, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials from residential, commercial, and industrial properties

    Conduct hoarding remediation, including removal, cleaning, and disposal of contaminated items

    Perform emergency vehicle decontamination for law enforcement and first responder fleets

    Handle chemical substance and drug residue cleanup (fentanyl, methamphetamine, etc.)

    Remove and properly dispose of medical waste, sharps, and regulated biohazardous materials

    Apply hospital-grade disinfectants, antimicrobial treatments, and odor elimination solutions

    Operate HEPA vacuums, air scrubbers, negative air machines, and other specialized equipment

    Maintain detailed documentation including scene photographs (before/after), inventory of personal effects, and job completion reports

    Properly don, use, and decontaminate personal protective equipment (PPE) including Tyvek suits, full-face respirators, and SCBA as required

    Transport and dispose of biohazardous waste in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) regulations

    Maintain truck inventory and equipment readiness between jobs

    Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients, families, law enforcement, and property managers during sensitive situations

    Required Qualifications

    Must be 18 years of age or older

    High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience

    Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

    Reliable personal transportation (must be within 45 minutes of assigned coverage area)

    Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work in confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and elevated areas

    Ability to pass a CORI/background check

    Ability to pass a pulmonary function / respirator fit test

    Comfortable working around pungent odors, blood, bodily fluids, decomposition, insects, and other biohazards

    Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

    Professional demeanor with excellent communication skills

    Must own a mobile phone and be reachable during on-call periods

    Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

    Preferred Qualifications

    OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Certification (29 CFR 1910.1030)

    HAZWOPER 40-Hour Certification (29 CFR 1910.120)

    Certified Bio-Recovery Technician (CBRT) through ABRA

    Experience in biohazard cleanup, restoration, demolition, or construction

    DOT Medical Card (or ability to obtain one)

    CPR / First Aid Certification
