    Biologist/Environmental Scientist -- Seeking a full-time Biologist/Environmental Scientist to join the Smart-Sciences, Inc. Miami office. The position is ideal for a candidate looking for opportunities to work on multiple public and private sector projects predominantly in southern Florida with the potential of advancement. Opportunities for this position may include: wetland delineations, seagrass and mangrove assessments, wetland mitigation monitoring and compliance, environmental permitting, native upland tree permitting, exotic vegetative species removal and construction oversight, wildlife-threatened and endangered species surveys and relocation, environmental site assessments, among other related environmental field and consulting responsibilities. Candidate should have 3 - 6 years’ experience in the biological or environmental science capacity and ability to produce deliverable maps for clients using GIS. Strong written and oral communication skills are a must.

    Ideal Qualities:

    · Minimum BS degree in a natural science from an accredited college or university. Masters degree preferred.

    · Proficient in GIS. Certified GIS Analyst preferred.

    · 3 to 6 years of environmental experience in Florida

    · Knowledge of South Florida flora and fauna

    · Strong client focus

    · Strong organization and time management skills

    Flexible – willing adapt to shifting priorities

    · Strong written and oral communication skills

    Works productively in both independent and team environments

    · Strong technical report writing skills

    Enthusiastic, creative, and have the desire and skills to interface with colleagues in other disciplines

    Ability and willingness to dig soil core samples, move through wetland habitat in harsh conditions and carry equipment are required.
