The Role We are seeking a highly motivated person to join our Engineering team. The Test Technician/Engineer will serve as an integral contributor to the BW Engineering Department. The purpose of the Sr. Test Technician/Test Engineer is to create test set-ups that accurately model the effects of product service life that will involve both existing products and new product development. This person shall be an energetic, hands-on creative problem solver that is effective in collaborating across all facets of the business. This role will report to the Director of Engineering. Expectations of the role - Testing of existing products to confirm calculated performance levels: o Static Testing o Dynamic Testing o Life Testing o Environmental Testing - Testing of new products to confirm calculated performance levels - Communicate test lab activities with engineering team - Verify all the required tools, samples, and resources are available to complete the test - Ensure that the testing is performed per approved test procedures - Analyze the data ensure that the testing is performing as intended - Assist in generating test reports - Maintain engineering test lab equipment with current calibration and updates - Assist engineering team with other activities involving minor fabrication, assembly, troubleshooting, etc. - Propose future tests to further enhance the product capability Our Wishlist - AA/BS degree in technical field preferred - Proficient computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint - 5 years of experience as a manufacturing or mechanical engineering technician - Proficient in understanding and interpreting of engineering drawings, including fabrication, assembly, electrical, wiring, schematic drawings - Understands tolerancing methods (knowledge in GD&T is preferred) - Capable of utilizing quality and engineering tools, including caliper, micrometer, microscope, profilometer, etc. - Ability to perform basic machining operations utilizing some of the production tools, including drill press, lathe, grinder, etc. - Familiarity with basic material characteristics, finishes, etc. - Familiarity with test data analysis - Experience with power tools and their associated safety procedures. - Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize assignments - Ability to communicate and respond effectively - Familiarity with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD system - Ability to read and understand PLC programming logic, including LabView - Familiarity of CNC programming - Familiarity with automation industry What BW offers: - Competitive base salary, plus an attractive incentive plan, paid quarterly - Teambuilding events with spouses and significant others - Excellent benefit package with a generous employer contribution - Uncapped flexible time off - 401(k) safe-harbor match - Profit Sharing - A Values driven, down to earth culture, that fosters a team environment, providing customers with exceptional service BW is an equal opportunity employer, we do not discriminate against employees or applicants based on race, creed, color, religious belief, sex, age, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, marital status, physical or mental handicap, veteran status, or any other basis protected by Federal, State or local law or ordinance.
