  • Responsibilities

    A Bistro Attendant's primary role is to provide excellent customer service and ensure the smooth operation of a bistro, typically within a hotel or similar establishment. This involves tasks like serving food and beverages, preparing items, handling transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area. They also play a key role in creating a positive dining experience and may be involved in inventory management and other duties as needed. Responsibilities: Guest Interaction: • Greeting guests and creating a welcoming atmosphere. • Engaging with guests, understanding their needs, and making recommendations. • Answering questions about the menu, beverages, and other hotel services. • Ensuring guest satisfaction with the food, drinks, and service. • Responding promptly to guest requests. Order Taking and Preparation: • Taking food and beverage orders and accurately entering them into the Point of Sale (POS) system. • Preparing coffee, specialty drinks, and simple food items using appropriate equipment. • Ensuring food and beverages are prepared according to recipes and quality standards. Food and Beverage Service: • Serving food and drinks to guests, ensuring prompt and courteous service. • Maintaining proper food temperatures and presentation. Maintaining a Clean and Organized Workspace: • Performing side work such as stocking supplies, cleaning tables, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the shift. • Ensuring the work area is clean, organized, and well-stocked. Operational Duties: • Performing opening and closing duties as required by the service station assignment. • Processing payments and handling cash transactions. • Maintaining an awareness of restaurant policies and procedures. Teamwork: • Collaborating with other team members to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction. • Offering assistance to colleagues when needed. Other duties: • May include inventory management, handling special requests, and assisting with special events. Qualifications: • Minimum one year of experience in a similar position dealing with the public. • Minimum state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages. • Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding. • High school graduate or equivalent, some college preferred. • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. • Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele. • Toast POS training preferred. Compensation: $13.50 hourly
