Job Description

The billing clerk follows patients' accounts through the entire billing process. Performs functions as related to medical billing and collection processes by requesting authorizations, filing claims, following up on outstanding claims, and assisting others with insurance billing questions.

Duties and Reaponsibilities;

• Contacts insurance companies for insurance verifications, explanation of benefits, authorizations, denials, and to resolve claim issues.
• Maintains reports on claims files, claims paid, and provides weekly and monthly reports.
• Provides customer service to patients by educating them on insurance policies and billing procedures.
• Calls patients and insurance companies to follow up with account information.
• Abililty to work as a team member while assuming individual responsibilities.
• Identify and resolve claim issues in order to resolve claims timely.
