The Quality Engineer designs and documents quality requirements for new product development and improves existing requirements. They serve as the primary contact for customers regarding quality documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with experience in documenting quality requirements.
Necessary Skills:
Proficiency in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, FAI, Gage R&R, Capability Study, Inspection Instructions and Procedures, and Balloon Drawings.
Advanced user of MS Office and Outlook, with an understanding of GD&T.
Experience with Minitab and applied statistics is a plus.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects concurrently, documenting and communicating project plans.
Capable of testing, installing new systems, and training employees on inspection procedures.
Provides technical support to manufacturing and tool design engineers to improve process efficiency from the start of product development.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and work cell design.
Required:
BS degree in Engineering (ME, IE, EE, ChemE, or QE).
Ideally, Six Sigma Black Belt and/or CQE certification.
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the metal industry.
Extensive experience with customer interactions and presentations.
Strong experience in creating quality documentation.
Ability to work well in a continuous improvement team and independently when necessary.
