Job Description

Responsibilities Include * The position of the Learning Support is designed to serve individuals and groups of students in the classroom and across the site * Encourage a positive learning environment in each setting within the school * Display problem solving skills and flexibility when instructional methods or materials need adaptations * Deliver educational interventions designed by therapists and teachers to help students meet educational, academic, life skill, behavioral, physical, social and emotional goals * Consult and collaborate with academic and therapeutic teams regarding individual students * Provide, implement, and support behavior management and crisis intervention Requirements * Education: Bachelor's in Education, Special Education, Early Education, or a related field * The ideal candidate will be high energy, willing to collaborate, flexible to change, and have the ability to think on their feet. * Personable, playful, and engaging; able to effectively build rapport with children and their families; positive and patient demeanor * Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a dynamic and busy role Benefits * Competitive salary * Insurance * Paid continuing education days * Generous PTO Company Description Black Bear Academy is a center for learning that provides education and support to children of all ages and their families in the Chicago area.
