    WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Staff Accountant with Accounts Receivable emphasis – Full Time

    BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: Black Box Security is looking for a Staff Accountant to join a highly dynamic professional environment to perform various accounting functions with A/R emphasis. This position reports to the corporate controller and works closely with Operations and upper management.

    SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Full charge over accounts receivable cycle.
    • Compose and communicate service proposals to clients.
    • Estimate job costs and prepare budgets for upcoming projects.
    • Establish and maintain effective work relationships with new and existing client management teams through a high degree of professionalism.
    • Maintain complete and accurate records for service-related vendors, review invoices, and enter into QuickBooks.
    • Assist controller with job profitability analysis, contract review, form 1099, and various tax filings.
    • Perform ad hoc Excel reporting and reconciliations within the scope of responsibilities.
    • Recommend changes to business processes and accounting policies to improve efficiency and increase profitability.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Exceptional attention to detail
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently and take full charge of assigned tasks and functions
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong emphasis on business writing
    • Efficient at multi-tasking while working under pressure
    • Ability to work some OT hours based on business needs
    • Business-oriented approach to a specific role within the company, growth mindset, and ability to see the big picture
    • Aptitude for improving processes and proactive problem solving

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business/ accounting/ finance or in process of obtaining bachelor’s degree in relevant field
    • Accounting: 3+ years
    • QuickBooks accounting software
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of Excel functions, tables, formulae, pivot tables is required
    • Previous collections experience is a plus, as the job will require some soft collection calls and/or letters
