    The Estimator is located in Vancouver, WA and typically reports directly to the Division Manager. The Estimator in conjunction with the Division Manager will execute projects in accordance with Corporate Policy. 

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Champion estimating process from start to finish
    • Refine process as needed
    • Receive RFPs, upload on share drives
    • Read and comprehend RFP and scope document
    • Assign tasks/ delegate as needed
    • Proficient in take offs and reading blue prints
    • Allocation of resources
    • Distribution of cost on bid schedule line item
    • Proposal preparation
    • Estimate follow through
    • Historical data and document control
    • Requesting quotes from vendors and subs.

    Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships to enhance competitiveness in the industry and promote good customer relationships.
    • Monitor project budget estimates with project management.
    • Participate in contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
    • Develop and implement quality control programs.
    • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
    • Strong emphasis placed on safety.
    • Perform sales calls and visits to potential and existing accounts to generate business.
    • Review work/contracts/WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    Degree or Diploma in

    • Engineering or Construction Management
    • 5+ years of estimating distribution, transmission, and or substation projects

    WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • 5-7 years of Estimating experience in Construction industry
    • A university degree in engineering or construction management is preferred.
    • Estimating experience with a strong professional reputation in market.
    • Available to travel as necessary to meet the demands of the position.
    • Expert in Excel
    • Experience with Bid to Win is a plus
    • Strong interpersonal skills, displaying superior verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent time management and organization skills
