This role will be responsible for designing, installing, and troubleshooting firmware systems and their components. You will assist in every phase of the firmware development cycle and must be prepared to adapt systems quickly to meet rapidly changing business needs. You will assist with the management of upgrades to existing systems and the implementation of new systems. You will be responsible for writing scripts, testing, and handling debugging tasks. Responsibilities: * Develop firmware according to a given specification and timeline. * Read electrical schematics, diagrams, and datasheets to diagnose and troubleshoot issues. * Document firmware solutions and respond to client feedback. * Support planning the development activities. * Perform technical design and code reviews, mentor, and coach junior engineers. * Work with validation lab in supporting engineering validation test code and product validation code testing. * Understand hardware and software interactions and collaborate with hardware engineers. * Maintain and improve existing designs and source code to help attain the goal of a modular structure. * Support the integration of software for BlackPearl products by working with applications engineers and directly with the customer. * Investigate root causes of software defects and resolve the defects. * Participate in code reviews by providing timely feedback to peers in a constructive manner. * Collaborate with colleagues and clients to set objectives, schedules, and deliverables for self or a small team. * Work with a cross functional project team and at times with external suppliers. * Learn and develop new skillsets to solve forecasted challenges.
