Full Job Description We're a rapidly growing, fast-paced, high-energy electrical, mechanical, software, and firmware technology engineering and product development company with the ability to manufacture as well. The Linux firmware engineer position utilizes software development skills to design, implement, and test Linux OS- and kernel-level software as well as firmware used in devices. You will assist in every phase of the firmware development lifecycle and must be prepared to adapt systems quickly to meet rapidly changing business needs. You will assist with the management of upgrades to existing systems and the implementation of new systems. You will be responsible for writing scripts, testing, and handling debugging tasks. Responsibilities: * Develop software according to a given specification and timeline. * Document software solutions and respond to client feedback. * Support planning the development activities. * Perform code reviews, mentor, and coach junior engineers. * Understand hardware and software interactions and collaborate with hardware engineers. * Support the integration of software for BlackPearl products by working with applications engineers and directly with the customer. * Investigate root causes of software defects and resolve the defects. * Participate in code reviews by providing timely feedback to peers in a constructive manner. * Collaborate with colleagues and clients to set objectives, schedules, and deliverables for self or a small team. * Work with a cross functional project team and at times with external suppliers. * Learn and develop new skillsets to solve forecasted challenges.
