R&D Laboratory Technician
The R&D Lab Tech will be primarily responsible for preparing, testing, and analyzing materials utilized in asphalt paving and pavement maintenance. They will be part of the technical team, working closely with the technical team to assist with new product development, optimization, commercialization, and technical support. On-site training will be provided to the selected candidate prior to requiring entirely independent performance.
Essential Job Functions
Conduct routine material preparation and testing of bituminous materials (i.e. asphalt, asphalt mixtures, asphalt emulsions) per written AASHTO, ASTM and/or Blacklidge procedures
Accurately maintain inventory tracking of materials used for routine testing
Keep a clean, neat, and orderly workspace (ready for inspection at any time)
Learn and execute new research test procedures within the lab
Set up and calibrate testing equipment
Verify and analyze test data
Produce standard detailed data reporting as needed (graphs, charts, etc.)
Understand customers’ needs and requirements
Assist with plant implementation and support

Requirements/Qualifications
Associate Degree or higher in related field
Laboratory R&D or technician experience preferred
Experience related to asphalt is a plus
Must be willing to work overtime when required
Relocation to Mississippi Gulf Coast area
