  • Responsibilities

    Blackmore and Glunt is looking for an experienced and self-motivated technician to add to our team in the Cincinnati, OH market.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO)

    • Visiting site installations within our geographic territory (typically within 250 miles) to ensure the products/equipment represented by Blackmore & Glunt are installed within the manufacturer’s guidelines.  
    • Observe safety and security procedures reporting potentially unsafe work environment.  
    • Configuring, calibrating, providing warranty service as well as leading educational sessions for owners and operators.  
    • This position requires a person who is self-motivated, capable of working on their own as well as with others.  
    • The work requires an excellent mechanical aptitude along with a strong desire to learn as the industry changes.  
    • This position will test and develop your troubleshooting ability related to steam and hot water heating, pumps and other products we represent.  
    • Complete field reports (both written and verbal), manufacturer’s reports and other required documentation in a timely manner.  
    • This position will also include other duties deemed necessary by the service manager.  
    • Must be able to travel to out-of-town factory training.  
    • Self-paced and on the job training also provided.

    OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS

    • Degree in HVACR education plus 3-5 years field commercial experience preferred.
    • Commensurate demonstrated field experience will be considered as well.
    • Excellent mechanical aptitude with a hunger to learn new techniques and approaches for problem solving.  Desire for new challenging experiences.
    • Experience with pumps, boilers, steam, water heaters, schematics and BAS controls.
    • Capable of identifying equipment issues vs. system issues.
    • Capable of diagnosing and resolving a wide variety of equipment problems.
    • Excellent Analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Resolve customer complaints.
    • Ability to work with minimal oversight and follow directions when provided.
    • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
    • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
    • Must be able to pass a government background check and random drug testing throughout employment and also for some jobsite access.
    • Must be able to lift 75# and move 100# or more with assistance.
    • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
    • Flexible daily start time depending on job requirements, typically on the job by 8am.
    • Workday is typically 8 hours, must be able to work overtime as required.
    • Must be able to work on weekends or holidays for emergency service when deemed necessary (infrequent).
