We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our very rapidly growing team. Vick is looking for someone with a similar entrepreneur mindset as him. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and implementing effective internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and management, with the ability to lead a team and contribute to strategic financial decision-making.
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop, implement, and manage the company's annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful recommendations for improving financial performance.
2. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data and reporting.
3. Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor cash flow, analyze trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Manage working capital to optimize liquidity and support business operations.
4. Internal Controls:
- Establish and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safeguard company assets.
- Conduct regular internal audits to identify and mitigate risks.
5. Tax Compliance:
- Oversee all aspects of tax compliance, working closely with external tax advisors.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all local, state, and federal tax returns.
6. Financial Systems:
- Evaluate and improve financial systems, processes, and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay current with industry trends and recommend updates to technology solutions.
7. Team Leadership:
- Lead and develop the finance team, providing mentorship and guidance to foster professional growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial management and accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience with [industry-specific software/tools].
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
