    Job Description

    Responsible for the implementation and management of a multi-site, EHS program throughout all locations. Incumbent will manage all aspects of EHS to include detailed planning, guidelines, specific procedures, and enforcement of the total safety protocol. Ensure that all operations meet standards for safety, health and environment to maintain best possible workplace conditions. Implement best safety practices and maintain a program of continuous improvement regarding EHS awareness and compliance. Need to meet both FDA and OSHA regulations for manufacturing, warehousing, and shipping in a Food and Pharmaceutical environment.

    ROLE AND

    RESPONSIBILITIES · Proactively build awareness of safety through continuous communication strategies at all levels, such as real time-walking/instructing on the floor, bulletin board postings , signage, safety topics of the month, contributing to Quarterly newsletter, training, etc · Create and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures · Implement processes for daily inspections · Encourage open communication about employee safety concerns. · Comply with all OSHA and other related regulatory requirements for documentation and reporting · Develop JSA’s, safety documents and forms to maintain accurate recordkeeping and integrity of information. · Perform job hazard analyses, citing specific hazards in manufacturing and warehousing and methods for remediation · Conduct safety audits to ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local regulations. Note any non-conformance/ hazardous conditions and facilitate corrective action. · Conduct and document thorough accident, incident, and “near-miss” investigations, and provide recommendations for process, procedure or equipment changes to eliminate future occurrences · Ensure that the noise level and air sampling tests are completed and that the mapping of these tests are documented, communicated and updated as necessary. · Work with the managers to establish safety guarding for equipment and the required PPE for specific equipment of the facility. · Develop and execute comprehensive site safety training program · Develop annual calendar for all required OSHA safety training · Provide leadership and direction for cross-functional site safety committee · Administer and report the proper safety metrics and measurements to plant leaders · Evaluate current safety rewards and recognition program for potential improvement · Administer all required emergency evacuation drills. · Work closely with independent contractors on site to ensure proper safety practices by their employees. Administer contractor safety program. · Monitor employee safety and identify areas for improvements. · Ensure compliance with handling and storage of flammable and/or combustible liquids for local, state and federal regulations · Develop proposals for EHS improvements for facility.

    · Interface with regulatory agencies and contractors.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    · Demonstrated Leadership ability · 10 year’s experience EHS, actual hands on as a Safety · Experience in manufacturing, Occupational Health and Safety Training (minimum OSHA 10 and 30 certification) · Experience with multi-site operations. · Experience with OSHA regulations with flammable and/or combustible liquids

    REQUIREMENTS · Bachelor´s Degree

    PREFERRED SKILLS · Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus · Ability to build and maintain relationships with regulatory and federal agencies. · Experience with multi-environmental compliance including water, air and waste. · Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines. · Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies. · Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment. · Highly result orientated, high level of self-organization. · Attention to detail, hands-on mentality. · Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
