  • Responsibilities

    JOB SUMMARY

    Sells products and value added parts for distributor to business and industrial establishments or individuals at sales office, store, showroom, or customer's place of business by performing the following duties.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Forecasts sales and gross profits for assigned sales territory.
    • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, and other sources.
    • Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
    • Completes questionnaire for management on all new customers.
    • Displays or demonstrates product knowledge, using catalog and or samples, and emphasize salable features.
    • Ability to read and understand blueprints, PDF and STEP files.
    • Follows up on price quotations with customers.
    • Follows up on credit terms, and assists Credit Department in collections when necessary.
    • Records sales and gross profit to customer call sheet monthly.
    • Handles customer complaints and communicates other pertinent information to management.
    • Prepares expense report for monthly sales expenses.

    OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Other duties as assigned by management.

    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
    • B.A. or equivalent preferred; 1 – 2 related experience and/or training; or at discretion of hiring manager.
