UNAVCO intends to run all internship programs during summer 2021. At this time, we aim to conduct these programs in person, in Boulder, Colorado. Should the situation change in terms of health and safety of participants and program staff we will convert all programming to a remote model. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Communications Intern will assist with website content, social media, and science writing.
A weekly stipend of $680-$760 is provided (rate depends on skills and experience) for 8 weeks
WORK CAN BE COMPLETED IN BOULDER, COLORADO OR AT A REMOTE LOCATION
Eligible individuals must be enrolled as a student at the time of application.
Internship is 11-weeks during summer 2021. Exact dates TBD; we expect either May 17-July 30 or May 24-August6.
Interns must participate for the full 11-week period.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Intern will be responsible for assisting with content migration from existing HTML-based web pages to a new, WordPress-based site. Additional tasks may include contributing to organizational news stories and science summaries, creating and posting content on social media, and working collaboratively with staff throughout UNAVCO to promote activities of the GAGE facility. The successful applicant will have basic technical skills working in an online environment, will be highly organized, and have exceptional attention to detail. The position may include original writing of news articles and social media content pending the experience and domain expertise of the applicant.
