Blandford Homes is seeking an assistant field project manager for land development to assist with the land development of residential subdivisions.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assist field operations for the land development of new residential communities

• Take direction from the land development project manager or other team members

• As knowledge and experience is gained become increasingly self-directed

• Grab hold of and advance tasks to completion (get tasks done and off the list)

• Monitor, schedule and coordinate contractors and subcontractors in the field

• Help identify and resolve issues in the field

• Monitor schedules and identify schedule issues

• Implement SWPP and dust plans

• Implement safety plans and initiatives

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of 1 – 3 years of experience in land development for residential subdivisions

• Some knowledge and direct experience in the primary job functions listed above

• Ability to take direction, ability to coordinate others, and ability to get things done

• Ability to read and understand engineered improvement plans, plats, landscape plans and utility plans for residential subdivisions an asset

• Knowledge of the sub-trades and flow of residential land development projects

• Capability with computers, e-mail, cell phones, electronic filing, digital storage and share files, i.e., Dropbox

• Competency in Microsoft WORD, Project, Excel an asset

• Ability to work and communicate effectively with people, verbal and written communications

• Ability to work independently in a small team environment where each team member makes a difference

• College degree or junior/community college diploma an asset (such as construction management, engineering technology, project management or related field)

• Analytical skills, ability to pro-actively look ahead

• Good to work with, personable, calm in the face of the inevitable storms
