    Job Summary: Blavity.org is seeking an accomplished Program Manager. The Program Manager will develop and execute programs that further the organization’s mission of racial equity and economic advancement of Black people; including The Blavity.org Growth Fellowship, a six month program that empowers a select group of Black entrepreneurs through grants, educational workshops, business tools, and mentorship from industry leaders.

    This position will establish and execute upon project roadmaps, develop and track track metrics and key performance indicators, communicate program updates to the Executive Director and our partners, and collaborate with other team members and consultants to ensure successful day-to-day operations of Blavity.org programs. 

    As the Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to be strategic, provide creative solutions, and impact the long-term success of Blavity.org. We are looking for an experienced Program Manager with a proven track record in developing and managing social impact projects, building relationships with charitable partners and leading community engagement. In addition, we want someone that is committed to supporting the Black community and is comfortable communicating, growing, and working with diverse teams.

    This 1099 Contract position reports directly into the Blavity.org Executive Director/Board of Directors.

    Responsibilities:

    Program Development & Execution

    • Create and execute project roadmaps for the Blavity.org Growth Fellowship and other programs
    • Establish and track performance metrics and key performance indicators to track the success and impact of Blavity.org programs
    • Plan and execute events and meetings that support Blavity.org programs
    • Create and maintain program budgets and expenses
    • Implement project management tools to support day-to-day development operations
    • Facilitate project meetings with our participants, donors, and partners
    • Implement process improvements, as needed, to ensure effective and streamlined operations
    • Provide regular updates to the Blavity.org Executive Director/Board of Directors

    Communications & Brand Awareness

    • Serve as point-person for day-to-day questions and inquiries from program participants and partners
    • Build and maintain relationships with program sponsors, program participants, and community leaders
    • Be a passionate advocate of Blavity.org; working to connect community, donors, and partners with our mission and vision

    Operations & Administration

    • Provide overall administrative and operations support to the Blavity.org Executive Director/Board of Directors
    • Support the development of the Blavity.org Annual Report
    • Support the Development Manager with organization development and fundraising efforts
    • Support the hiring and onboarding of other Blavity.org staff

    Qualifications

    • Experience: 8+ years experience in nonprofit program management, social impact programming, community engagement, communications; prior program offer/program manager experience at a leading non-profit organization; commitment to social justice and supporting the Black community
    • Technologies: Fluent in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Asana and or comparable project management suite, social media
    • Competencies: program management, budget management, communications, community relations, event planning, strategic planning, grassroots campaigns
    • Independent, entrepreneurial self-starter who is comfortable taking on a high level of responsibility
    • Comfort with ambiguity and a proven love for transforming unorganized/complex data into rigorously structured, insight-oriented solutions
    • High-energy, company first, positive attitude: must be motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent communication and analytical skills; outgoing and sociable; willing to wear multiple hats 
    • Naturally detail oriented, with an obsessive need to document and communicate findings
    • A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture

    Details: This is a 1099 Contract, Remote position averaging up to 30 hours/week, for up to 6 months, with potential for Full-Time conversion. The position may require attendance to ad hoc meetings out of our DTLA office, and some travel.
