Responsibilities
- Individualized Education Program (IEP) Development: Collaborate with a team of professionals, including parents, administrators, and other educators, to develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student with special needs.
- Assessments and Progress Monitoring: Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate students' progress and determine their educational needs. They use various assessment tools and methods to measure learning outcomes and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Individual and Small Group Instruction: Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities, both individually and in small groups. They deliver specialized instruction across academic subjects, focusing on building foundational skills, promoting independence, and fostering growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in education
- Master s degree in special education or teaching students with special needs
- Valid South Carolina special education teaching license
