    Title of Position: Events and Outreach Coordinator Supervisor: Director of Programs Status: Full-time (40 hours) Location: Hybrid. Office location - Morrisville, NC Salary: $50,000 The Bleeding Disorders Foundation of North Carolina is seeking an enthusiastic person to fill the Events and Outreach Coordinator position. This is a new position to support the growing and evolving needs of the bleeding disorders community in North Carolina. The Bleeding Disorders Foundation of North Carolina (BDFNC) was founded in the 1970s to promote awareness, provide support, and disseminate information to the community about hemophilia. Over the years, the organization has evolved to support a variety of bleeding disorders. Our Mission is to improve the quality of life of persons affected by bleeding disorders through advocacy, education, promotion of research, and delivery of supportive programs and services. Position Description: The Events and Outreach Coordinator will assist the Director of Programs with the coordination of all programs, events, and education for the bleeding disorders community in North Carolina. The Events and Outreach Coordinator will work closely with patients and families impacted by bleeding disorders and identify new community members in areas of the state where services are more limited. Duties and Responsibilities: Events - Plan, coordinate, and execute all BDFNC events (including, but not limited to small educational programs/dinners, larger educational meetings, retreats, conferences and symposia, fundraising events, virtual events, and other events as determined by BDFNC) in collaboration with the Director of Programs. - Research, propose, and secure event venues. - Hire outside vendors/contractors for events. - Maintain and develop event timelines. - Recruit event volunteers. - Develop marketing materials including webpages, invitations, emails, and other promotional materials. - Manage registration lists for all BDFNC events. - Attend all major events. Attend small events as needed. - Manage event budgets and ensure events stay within budget in collaboration with the Director of Programs. - Arrange for all payment of all approved event expenses. Outreach - Work with Operations Specialist to welcome new members. - Work closely with community members to provide information and resources about BDFNC programs. - Work with a variety of stakeholders to identify new community members. - Connect with community members about upcoming events. - Manage BDFNC social media accounts. Other Responsibilities - Write and edit articles for the BDFNC newsletter, The Concentrate, on a quarterly basis. - Complete other duties as assigned to fulfill the mission of BDFNC. Knowledge and Skills - Bilingual - English/Spanish. - Excellent communication skills. - Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines, and complete tasks in a timely manner. - Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized. - Excellent writing and proofreading ability. - Must be able to work with a diverse group of constituencies of varying racial, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds. - Computer proficient. - Social media proficient. - Ability work as part of a team. Qualifications - Must be able to travel around North Carolina for events. - Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. - Some nights and weekends required. - Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience. - At least one-year of event planning experience preferred. - Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English and Spanish. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
