Job Summary:
The Blending and Batching Operator is responsible for preparing and mixing food ingredients according to precise formulations to ensure consistent, high-quality products. This role involves accurately weighing, measuring, and combining raw materials, operating blending equipment, and maintaining compliance with food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure, weigh, and combine ingredients following established recipes and batch sheets.
- Operate mixing, blending, and batching equipment in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Monitor batch progress and adjust mixing times, speeds, or ingredient levels as needed to maintain quality.
- Verify ingredient accuracy and ensure proper labeling of materials and finished batches.
- Record all batch information, including lot numbers, quantities, and operator data.
- Follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sanitation of equipment and tools after each batch.
- Work closely with the Quality and Production teams to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Report equipment malfunctions, quality issues, or deviations from recipes immediately.
- Assist with material handling, ingredient storage, and inventory rotation (FIFO).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, blending, or batching preferred.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to read and follow recipes, batch sheets, and standard operating procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Comfortable working in a temperature-controlled production environment.
Work Environment:
- Food production and processing facility.
- Frequent exposure to powders, liquids, and various food ingredients.
- Must adhere to all hygiene and PPE requirements (hairnets, gloves, etc.).
