    THE OPPORTUNITY: Manufacturing Process Professional and Technical Trainer – Electronics

    PAY TRANSPARENCY: USD Starting Range $65000 - $85000 year. Pay is commensurate with experience.

    • Have you achieved a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university focusing on industrial engineering, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or a related engineering discipline coupled with at least (5) years or more of related work experience as an Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Test Engineer, Quality Engineer (or a similar specialty engineering role)?

    • In the manufacturing industry, do you have a track record of coordinating, managing, and leading cross-functional technical training and development programs to standardize processes and work instructions that enable other team members to reduce waste and cost by identifying defects and non-conforming products more quickly and increase efficiency by providing resources and references that aid in an earlier time-to-competency, and earlier problem identification and problem resolution?

    This position reports to the Global Operations Leader. Unlike many organizations where this role is strictly focused on meeting daily productivity goals, the Manufacturing Process Engineer and Technical Trainer at Bliley is expected to be a fully engaged business partner and change agent focused on producing results that align with the company’s strategic goals and objectives.

    What that means is that in addition to supporting production engineering activities, we expect the Manufacturing Process Engineer and Technical Trainer to collaborate with others to improve the company in its entirety and to take the lead on driving workforce skills development and training. Examples of such duties include but are not limited to:

    • Through independent study, on-the-job training, and consultation with others, serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on what resources and processes are required to produce the company’s products and deliver the services the company offers its clients.
    • Reviews technical specifications, BOM, engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints, and other relevant materials to identify the scope of work and production requirements associated with producing company products.
    • Identifies the need for any new processes, procedures, and/or corrective actions related to the manufacturing process; then follows through to ensure that any new/different task/procedure/process is thoroughly tested and well-documented to ensure accurate, timely information flows throughout the organization y using the company’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
    • Interviews, observes, and documents the work performed by job incumbents and other subject matter experts to identify the learning needs of the organization to develop multimedia visual aids and new training programs or to modify and improve existing programs.
    • Captures the knowledge and insights of frontline workers, translating their work activities, insight, and feedback into actionable process improvements while empowering workers with a sense of self-management and ownership in improving production standards and results.
    • Uses clear strategies and tactics to achieve the desired learning outcome for various audiences; designs and develops engaging and effective course content and instructional programs to train workers to deliver company products and services on time and on budget; advance workforce skills development and facilitates succession planning initiatives.
    • Uses various instructional techniques (e.g. role-playing, simulations, team exercises, videos, etc.) to deploy the most suitable delivery mode for the training circumstance (large group, small group, individual instruction, online, classroom, on-the-floor, etc.).
    • Develops testing and evaluation procedures; provides management with updates on individual workers’ training experiences and test results to support proper alignment with their work activities and production workflow.
    • Collects and analyzes key metrics and other data to assess the effectiveness of team training initiatives and makes appropriate material modifications.
    • Regularly communicates with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., other team members, customers, contractors, vendors, etc.) to ensure that training initiatives and technical documentation and/or reports comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)'s and regulatory requirements.
    • Uses the company’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) and product lifecycle management systems to enter, manage, and extract training and other data the leadership team relies on to make data-driven strategic decisions for the business.
    • Monitors, prepares, and manages a training budget that supports business objectives.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    GENERAL REQUIREMENTS :

    • At least (5) years or more of related work experience as an Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Test Engineer, Quality Engineer (or a similar specialty engineering role)?
    • ITAR COMPLIANCE This position requires access to or use of information subject to the federal International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants for this position must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines "U.S. Person" as a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a person admitted as a refugee to the U.S., a person granted asylum in the U.S., or person granted the status of an alien lawfully admitted for temporary residence to the U.S. under 8 U.S.C. §1160(a) (for special agricultural workers) or 8 U.S.C. §1255(a)(1) (an amnesty program).
    • an IPC J-STD-001 Certification for “Requirements for Soldering Electrical and Electronic Assemblies” or be willing to acquire this certification within ninety (90) days of starting work.
    • Background and investigative checks may be performed as part of the hiring process (this may include criminal, motor vehicle, employment/reference, credit); results must be satisfactory to the company.
    • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States full-time. Our company does not sponsor applicants for work visas.
    • Minimal local/regional/national travel is an essential duty. This requires having a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and providing your own transportation to and from industry/business events, as needed. Infrequent overnight travel associated with industry/business events may also be necessary. Delete this bullet if this job will not travel on company business.
    • If hired, must adhere to all company policies and procedures, safety requirements, and other prescribed best practices/industry standards.

    Other Considerations:

    The job is primarily performed indoors in a manufacturing setting. The individual must constantly talk, hear, stand, or sit for extended periods while using a computer, telephone, or other productivity devices to communicate with other personnel and conduct business. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The individual frequently uses their hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects and computer keyboards. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, squat, turn/twist, and smell. The individual must frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds and/or occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    The noise levels in the facility can also vary widely in different regions, and specific workspace restrictions are also possible. Occasional sitting, standing, moving forward/back/side-to-side, and working around machinery and moving parts is possible; exposure to electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, gases, chemicals, oils, sealants, solvents, and other compounds is possible.

    Site conditions dictate using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by the company, including eye, hearing, respiratory protection, protective smock, steel toe shoes, gloves, etc., as needed. Contact lenses may not be allowed in some areas.
