Blink Charging operates a network of electric vehicle automotive charging stations primarily located in the United States.
Job Description
The GIS Analyst will leverage GIS to creatively problem solve, conduct analysis, and produce exceptional maps and mapping web applications in support of the development of commercial scale solar, battery energy, and other renewable power generation projects. This position will be engaged in supporting all aspects of project development including but not limited to site identification, due diligence review, grid interconnection, permitting, and engineering. This position reports to the Senior GIS Analyst, or another senior management personnel that the President of the Company may designate. This position may be required to travel up to 30% of the time, with travel to headquarters and across North America for training sessions and conducting site visits.
Job Responsibilities
Support EV Charger project development though spatial data management, analysis, and cartography;
Conduct site suitability analysis;
Build, maintain, and support custom Web Mapping Applications, Dashboards and mobile tools;
Source and manage spatial data;
Maintain and manage project specific spatial data;
Support interoperability between GIS, AutoCAD, GoogleEarth, and other specialize software / data services.
Conduct land, regulatory, and related project research.
Create static maps for documents, presentations, and general communication;
Ensure proper coordinate systems and transformations are applied and documented for spatial data;
Ensuring data integrity;
Prepare spatial data transmittal packages;
Mapping land records including parcels, easements, and other documented boundaries;
Support field data collection and navigation though mobile apps;
Assist in creating detailed reports and presentations;
Support administrative functions;
Organize and attend site visits;
Work with internal teams and perform additional duties to assist in project development and land acquisition as required; and to improve performance and work efficiency
Performs all other duties and special requests, as assigned by Management
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Must be able to troubleshoot problems and find solutions independently. Critical thinking and creative ingenuity are essential
Strong Knowledge of Blink operations, services, and products
Ability to have difficult conversations; think on your feet and ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
The ability to self-organize and keep multiple projects on tasks and on time
Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for producing quality, dependable work
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Strong Research Skills – able to read and understand technical documentation
Consistently demonstrates the highest standard of professionalism and integrity in situations involving minimal guidance and supervision
Experience authoring, updating and managing web maps and mapping applications, required
Experience in commercial scale renewable development or land records mapping, highly preferred
Experience using mobile GIS/GPS tools to collect and validate field data including Collector, Survey123 and ArcGIS Field Maps, highly preferred
A strong understanding of land records (including parcels, lots, and easements) and legal descriptions including metes and bounds and Public Land Survey System (PLSS)
Experience reading grading and construction plans, one-line diagrams, and schematics preferred.
Experience working with CAD data in the GIS environment, preferred
Experience working in AutoCAD and understanding of the AutoCAD data model, preferred
High proficiency in communication, written, oral, and cartographically – the ability to convey spatial information to non-GIS user is essential
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in Geography, Information Systems, Information Technology, Land Planning, Environmental Sciences, or another related field
Minimum of 5+ years of experience using the ArcGIS platform (both Desktop and Online), required
Work Authorization:
United States (required)
Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required.
