    Job Description

    We are looking for a Head of Financial Reporting to report directly to our Global Head of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting. We are looking for a candidate with a strong understanding of financial reporting including SEC reporting and have a technical accounting background. You will be responsible for all of our external and internal financial reporting, including SEC filings, statutory financials for our subsidiaries, and local and international regulatory reporting for our regulated entities. This position will also be responsible for the equity accounting function.

    You will lead the financial reporting team that is primarily responsible for: 

    • The Company’s primary SEC filings including Forms 10K, 10Q and Earnings Release

    • Other SEC filings such as 8Ks and DEF 14A

    • Monthly and quarterly consolidations of the Block’s financial statements

    • Equity accounting

    • Statutory financial reporting for our international entities and periodic financial statements for various board meetings

    • Monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory financial reporting for various regulated subsidiaries

    • Supporting the investor relations team on the shareholders letter and other investor materials

    • Developing the Company’s non-GAAP reporting

    • Coordination with auditors on the audit and review of the annual and quarterly financial statements

    • Supporting the technical team on various transactions including mergers and acquisitions, debt offerings, new product initiatives, adoption of new standards, and other general corporate accounting matters

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    You Have: 

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent

    • CPA required

    • 15+ years of experience required – Big 4 experience preferred

    • Public company experience required (preferably from working at a high growth disruptive public company, Financial Services / Payment Processor industry experience desirable but not a requirement)

    • Comprehensive and current understanding of US GAAP, including recently issued accounting pronouncements, and SEC reporting principles and regulations

    • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and internal control frameworks
