  • Responsibilities

    Job Purpose:

    To oversee and manage business operations in a specific health club location.

    Primary Duties:

    Effectively manage business operation in a specific health club location.

    Achieve budget and financial goals for the club as discussed and decided upon in conjunction with senior management.

    Promote, maintain and exemplify the brand, both among health club members and among company staff.

    Ensure that policies and procedures are properly disseminated and followed.

    Act as primary liaison between health club’s management and company management.

    Handle customer service issues that may arise with company clients in the health club.

    Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with health club owners/staff and company clients.

    Competently handle all human resource-related issues at the club level, including but not limited to, hiring/firing of personal trainers; developing staff for promotion; demoting staff where appropriate; delivering corporate memos, addendums and internal market changes to staff; preparing, delivering and returning disciplinary action paperwork; ensuring compliance with all Company policies and procedures.

    Direct and manage the work of all personal trainers, AMs and other company employees assigned to the health club.

    Sell personal training to clients, and explain terms of personal training services contract.

    Communicate clearly and promptly with corporate to ensure that all paperwork is received. These duties include but not limited to HR related issues and internal office supply orders.

    Lead and/or attend all staff meetings as required.

    Secondary Duties:

    Fill in as a personal trainer in the event of a trainer no-show, or as otherwise needed.

    Provide corporate with helpful information about how to improve its business in the health club/market.

    Perform any other duties as senior management may assign, from time to time.

    Skills/Qualifications: CPR and AED certification (if required by state); Personal Training certification required (if required by state); Course work in physical education, nutrition, physiology and exercise science preferred, sales experience preferred.
